World AIDS Day Red and White Ribbon Launched

National AIDS Council Secretariat together with its key partners and stakeholders launched the Red/White Ribbon Campaign on November 14th in preparation for the World AIDS Day Commemoration.
The invited guest for Launching was MAMPI, an International Singer from Zimbabwe. She is in the country for her official invitation. Her presence was highly appreciated because she has huge fan in this country and doing a campaign on GBV and HIV surely will have great impact on our young people.
Speaking during the launching Mr. Daniel Mona, Member for Goilala and Chairman to the Special Parliamentary AIDS Committee said “I am honored to stand before you to officially launch the 2013 World AIDS Day RED/WHITE Ribbon Campaign. Before I do that I would like to welcome Ms. Maryanne Mungape “MAMPI” to our beautiful country Papua New Guinea. As the chairman of the Special Parliamentary Committee Chairman on HIV/AIDS, I am officially announcing the theme for this year’s World AIDS Day Commemoration on December 1,” STOP GENDER BASED VIOLENCE, REDUCE HIV”
